Every file on every drive is in the catalog, including drives in a drawer in another country. Search by name, project, or the thing photographers actually remember: when it was shot.
Pick a date range and see every file from that trip, with the drive it lives on and where that drive is. Desktop search forgets a drive the moment you unplug it. This is for the unplugged ones.

Drive Atlas compares every file across every drive you own and gives you one number: how many gigabytes exist in exactly one place. Not a feeling. A number, with the folders listed under it, biggest first.
Click a folder and the backup picker is already filled in. The number goes down. That is the whole feature, and as far as we know nothing else does it.
Then the copy itself is worth trusting. Drag-and-drop copies lie: same name, same size, one swapped byte somewhere in the middle. Drive Atlas hashes every file on both sides during the copy, and nothing gets its real name until the hashes match. A yanked cable can never leave a half file pretending to be a backup.
Re-verify any backup months later with one click. Run the same backup again and it only copies what is missing. Offload tools that verify like this cost $99 to $169 and want it yearly. This is $20 once, and it is not even the whole app.

Here is the part no other tool does: the map works for drives that are not plugged in. Study a drive on a shelf in Tokyo from a cafe in Berlin.

You copied the project "temporarily", twice. Now three drives carry the same 200 GB and nobody knows which copy is real. Drive Atlas finds duplicates across every drive you own, including renamed copies, and shows you plainly what is a copy of what.
Then it makes them safe to delete. Every group is verified byte for byte before anything moves. Deletion goes to the Recycle Bin, only after that check, and only the copies you did not mark as keepers. It also spots a zip sitting next to a folder with the same name. You know why you made that zip, so the app suggests trashing the archive, never the folder.

True story from development: a Samsung T7 passed every SMART check while its write speed had collapsed to 2 MB/s. The benchmark caught it. The manufacturer's own tool later confirmed it. The footage was evacuated in time.
Drive Atlas benchmarks your drives and remembers every result. A drive is judged against its own history, so an old slow drive is not "unhealthy", but a fast drive that halved is. If a drive is failing, the evacuation plan lists everything on it that exists nowhere else, biggest first, with a drive it would fit on. You work down the list instead of panicking.

Numbered frames in a folder could be a timelapse or a wedding. Drive Atlas reads the shooting rhythm from the files themselves. A timelapse is a metronome. A photo shoot is jazz.
Timelapses show their interval and steadiness, like "2.5s interval, steady 96%, first 7 frames off-rhythm, test shots?" You confirm with one click. Your call always outranks the app's guess.

Print a label for any drive. The QR holds the drive's summary in plain text: capacity, free space, file count, top five folders by size, and where you said it lives.
No server, no app needed to read it. Any phone camera works, in a basement with no signal, in 2040.

On Windows, the first run pops a blue box: "Windows protected your PC". Before you click past any warning, you deserve to know what it actually means.
The check behind that box looks at two things: whether the file is signed with a paid publisher certificate, and whether many other people have already run this exact file. Drive Atlas is not signed yet, and every new release starts from zero, so the box appears. It means Windows does not recognize the publisher. It is not a virus scan result, and it does not mean something bad was found. Your antivirus still scans the file separately, the normal way.
A code-signing certificate costs about $140 a year, and it pays for an identity check on the developer, not a review of the code. This app has not sold enough copies to cover one yet. We would rather explain that than pretend the warning is not there. Signing is planned as soon as sales fund it, and once releases are signed, the reputation carries over from version to version and the warning fades for good.
Click "More info", then "Run anyway". That is the whole procedure.
One honest exception: some Windows 11 machines run Smart App Control, which blocks unsigned apps outright, with no button to click past it. If that is your machine, Drive Atlas cannot run on it until we sign. We are not going to suggest switching your protection off.
Download only from this site or from the GitHub releases page it links to. Those are the only two places we publish. If a file calling itself Drive Atlas reached you any other way, we did not make it.
Nothing shouts, nothing bounces, nothing is hidden in the fine print.
